Inside the Duomo, magnificent!!

A shot of the spires that line the top of the Duomo. In all there are 135 spires and 3,400 statues. Commissioned in 1386, by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, the Duomo was not finished until the early 1800s.

The next day in Piazza del Duomo is a little different scene. That night Milan AC was to play in the Champions League semi-final match in which they beat PSV Eindhove (Holland)... they sure do love their football in Europe! It was quite amazing that the polizia tolerated the drunken festivities in public.
You can also see that right now the Duomo is in the midst of a major renovation to clean it and fix some of the sculptures high up.

Unlike America, Europeans are extremely environmentally conscious.
Here is a typical car. Moreover, hotel room lights turn off automatically
when you leave the room, escalators at the airport turned on only when you approached them...these are all things that more countries should adopt sooner than later...
